Boyd Frederick Schenk, 76, first counselor in the St. Louis Temple presidency and former chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Pet Milk Co., died Nov. 28, 1998, at his home in Town andCountry, Mo., a suburb of St. Louis.
A pioneer for the Church in the St. Louis area, he served as regional representative, mission president's counselor and president of the St. Louis Missouri Stake, and was active in many civic and service organizations, including the National Advisory Council of the Business School at BYU and of the Ezra Taft Benson Agricultural Institute. He also served on the board of trustees of Dixie College in St. George, Utah, where he was given an honorary degree in 1988.He was president and chief executive officer and eventually vice president of the multi-national IC Industries Inc., based in Chicago,Ill., that acquired Pet Milk Co. He served on 11 major company boards of directors.
